In my last newsletter, I failed to express my gratitude for all of your amazingly thoughtful and generous Valentine cards and gifts! You definitely made me feel loved and appreciated. :-)
Last week, your children continued to learn despite my need to take care of my own child and therefore have a sub for Wednesday and Friday. My youngest was diagnosed with pneumonia and is, thankfully, on antibiotics and on the road to recovery. This coming Wednesday I will also be out of the classroom with our fourth grade team, as we have our fourth grade planning day. Your children will be in good hands.
Monday we will be taking our second WordMaster analogy quiz. We have been spending time in class working on having complete understanding of the definitions...we will see how that translates to the analogies. There will be one more group of 25 words to add to the collection for our final quiz later in the year.
We will be attending a Magazine Sale assembly on Tuesday, so look for information in your child's backpack on Tuesday afternoon. This fundraiser typically has certain turn-in dates for any sales, therefore you will need to read through the information carefully if this is a fundraiser in which your child will participate. The prizes are usually a big hit.
This Wednesday and Thursday, room 11 students will get a second art day with Mrs. Yamamoto. This time they will be using clay to create something to remind them of their fourth grade social studies curriculum. I am looking forward to seeing their creations.
This quarter ends on March 15, so there are three weeks left until report cards will be finalized. Encourage your child to finish the quarter strong and always give their personal best.
Enjoying our California adventure,
