March 3, 2019

We have another four-day week due to a staff development day on Monday, March 4. This will be our last vacation day until Spring Break which is April 15-22.

I would like to start putting together the parent chaperone list for our Mariposa study trip which will be on Friday, March 29. If you have been fingerprinted with Fresno Unified and would like to accompany us on this trip, please send me an email, Remind message, or write it in your child's agenda. We will leave around 7:30 and return around 4:00. (More specific times and details to come as the trip approaches.)

We did not have a spelling test last week since I failed to send the word list home - even after the students reminded me. They will get one more week to study the /oi/ and /oy/ words, and the test will be this Friday.

Our third, and final, set of Wordmaster vocabulary words will come home on Tuesday. We have already started to learn the definitions and find connections between these words and our first two lists. The second analogy test was taken last week, so look for your child's paper in the Manchester folder. These are not simple tests.

Thank you for all of the donations our class gave for the Pennies for Patients drive. This is a worthy cause, and it was great to see so many of the students participate. Magazine and candy sales started last week. If your child needs extra forms, please let me know and we can get them from the office.

Enjoying our California adventure,

Lanie Huene
