The final week of third quarter is upon us, and I truly can't believe that we are almost in the final quarter of fourth grade. The quarter officially ends on March 15, so reports cards will be coming home on Monday, March 18.
This is the final week for magazine and candy sales. All money and order forms need to be turned in by Thursday, March 14. If you are selling online, all orders need to be entered by the 14th as well. Thank you!
I currently have six parents who have expressed an interest in being a chaperone for the Mariposa Study Trip on March 29. Six is plenty, but we still have room for more. If you are fingerprinted through FUSD and would like to spend the day with us, please let me know by Friday the 15th. The parents that are signed up to date are Nikisha Ruffin, Brett Garvin, Lucy Hernandez, Jennifer Schmidt, Kristy Higton, and Matt White. Please let me know if I have forgotten you or added you when you didn't desire to be. :-)
With track, band, orchestra, melodies, wrestling, and science olympiad, we have quite a few times when students are leaving class for other obligations. Please remind your child that if he/she is involved in extra activities, it is his/her responsibility to make up any work missed during class time on that same day. This has not been an issue yet, I am just trying to be proactive as track and science olympiad are just starting their pull-outs.
WordMaster vocabulary cards will be due on Friday, March 15. The students have had many hours in class to work on these, but some have not finished. I have suggested they take the number they have left to finish on Monday and divide it by four so they know how many need to be tackled each night to be finished by Friday morning.
We now have dates for our California State Testing. PLEASE put these dates on your calendar and try to schedule any appointments around them. Thank you for helping to limit absences on these days.
April 30 and May 1 - SBAC ELA Testing
May 8 and May 9 - SBAC Math Testing
Spring pictures will be on Wednesday, March 20. All students will be photographed and picture packages will be sent home with an option to purchase. No money needs to be sent to school before the pictures are taken.
Enjoying our California adventure,
